Process Description
1. Service Introduction & Client Consultation:
*The Static Auto Care technician will conduct a thorough visual inspection of the vehicle's exterior, documenting any existing paint defects (scratches, swirls, oxidation, etc.) with photos and notes.
* The technician will discuss the ceramic coating application process in detail, outlining the expected benefits and any specific client concerns.
* A detailed service agreement outlining the scope of work, pricing, and terms will be presented and signed by the client.
2. Pre-Coating Preparation (Multi-Stage Paint Correction):
* 2.1 Thorough Wash & Decontamination:
* 2.1.1 Pre-Rinse & Foam Cannon Application: The vehicle will be pre-rinsed to remove loose dirt and debris, followed by a pH-neutral foam cannon application to loosen embedded contaminants.
* 2.1.2 Contact Wash (Two-Bucket Method): A meticulous hand wash using the two-bucket method with grit guards and premium microfiber wash mitts will be performed to minimize swirl marks.
* 2.1.3 Chemical Decontamination: Iron and tar deposits will be chemically removed using specialized cleaners.
* 2.1.4 Clay Bar Treatment: The paint surface will be clayed to remove bonded contaminants, leaving a smooth surface.
* 2.1.5 Final Rinse & Drying: The vehicle will be thoroughly rinsed and dried using microfiber towels and forced air.
* 2.2 Paint Correction (Polishing):
* 2.2.1 Paint Thickness Measurement: Paint thickness will be measured using a digital gauge to assess the safe level of paint correction.
* 2.2.2 Multi-Stage Polishing: Depending on the paint condition, a multi-stage polishing process will be conducted using professional-grade polishers, polishing pads, and compound/polish combinations.
* Heavy Cut (if necessary): For severe defects, a heavy-cut compound will be used to remove deeper scratches and oxidation.
* Medium Polish: A medium-cut polish will be used to refine the paint and remove swirl marks.
* Fine Polish (Finishing): A fine polish will be used to achieve a high-gloss, mirror-like finish.
* 2.2.3 Panel Wipe Down: After each polishing stage, the panels will be wiped down with an isopropyl alcohol (IPA) solution to remove polishing oils and ensure a clean surface for the next stage.
* 2.3 Inspection & Quality Control:
* After the paint correction process is complete, the technician will meticulously inspect the paint surface under various lighting conditions to ensure all defects have been addressed.
3. Ceramic Coating Application:
* 3.1 Panel Preparation (IPA Wipe): The vehicle's paint surface will be thoroughly wiped down with an IPA solution to remove any remaining oils or residues.
* 3.2 Ceramic Coating Application:
* The chosen ceramic coating product (specified in the service agreement) will be applied panel by panel using a dedicated applicator.
* The coating will be applied in a crosshatch pattern to ensure even coverage.
* The coating will be allowed to flash (partially cure) according to the manufacturer's instructions.
* The excess coating will be leveled using a microfiber towel.
* 3.3 Curing & Inspection:
* The ceramic coating will be allowed to cure for the manufacturer's recommended time in a controlled environment (if applicable) or under favorable weather conditions.
* A final inspection will be conducted to ensure proper application and curing.
* 3.4 Infrared Curing (Optional/Depending on product):
* Some ceramic coatings can be cured with infrared lamps to accelerate the curing process. This will be mentioned in the service agreement if it is part of the service.
4. Final Touches & Client Handover:
* 4.1 Exterior Trim & Tire Dressing: Exterior trim pieces will be dressed with a protective coating, and tires will be dressed with a high-quality tire shine.
